Windsurfing, Not as Easy as it Looks.

June 28, 2009

On Saturday, Erica and I spent 3 hours in the Poole harbor learning how to windsurf.

Look Mom! I can windsurf!

The peninsula half of the harbor is ideal for learning water sports because it is one giant sandbank and you can walk in knee deep water for about a mile. That part of the harbor has a clever name….It’s called Sandbanks, and it is one of the most expensive places to live in the UK.

So, how did I do?  Lets just say that I spent more time with my butt in the water then I did with my feet on the board, but all in all not to bad. I stayed on long enough for Dave to snap some nice pictures and I could steer a little by the end of the session. I have to say, it was way more exausting  then I thought it would be and it was quite the workout!  I exausted and sore when I got home and achy for a nice chunk of today.  The plan is for Erica and I to spend 3 more hours practicing tomorrow.  Wish us luck!
